Every year as the holiday season rolls around I start getting excited about Christmas. Aside from stockings filled with tiny, cute presents, one of the things that I really enjoy is going to look at Christmas lights. I remember going to look at them with my grandparents, parents and aunt and uncles. My husband likes seeing them so I came up with the bright idea of making it a date night to go see the holiday lights around town.
Hop online to find out whether or not your city or town puts up a display. I live near a small city where the electric company decorates the downtown area with a Christmas tree along with stringing up several lights throughout the trees and power line poles on the square. Your town may host a similar event during the holiday season. If so, suggest to your significant other how going to see the lights will make a perfect date that won't break the bank. Drive through well-light neighborhoods if your area doesn't have a display at its center. Private home owners sometimes put on spectacular displays and don't mind the thought of people driving by each evening between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Stop at a coffee shop for hot chocolate or coffee. Purchase a dessert to accompany your hot drink and your all set for a wonderful, low-cost night out.
Search through a light finder site on the Internet if you are having trouble finding good Christmas light displays in your area. Sites such as these having multiple listings for where the best holiday lights are located at.
