I have been in park mode with temperatures retaining their pleasant status this weekend. My husband and I love visiting parks when readings peak in the upper seventies, which is often the case here in Florida. You may disagree with me if you live far enough up north to see a plentiful amount of cold weather. The good news regarding visiting parks is that most of the country has seen mild temperatures and very little snow this winter. I've read stories about people as far north as Minnesota having to take their winter games indoors because of a lack of snow and ice. The warmer weather makes exploring a nearby park the perfect way to enjoy a free day with your significant other.
Decide on a park near your home that you haven't seen before or visit a nearby favorite. Many cities, towns and rural areas have scenic and outdoor locations for residents and visitors to enjoy. Conduct an internet search to find one near you. My husband and I like a park in our area that offers a variety of scenic options such as water, animals and woodlands. We also enjoy looking up a new sites to explore such as a state-owned forest and the like.
Pack a picnic lunch or order a deli sandwich from the store to take with you. For some reason, picnic food tastes better even if you eat the same fare at home, while sitting at the kitchen table. My husband and I discovered this when we made and packed sandwiches along with drinks to take with us.
Consult a park map for the purpose of making sure you and your honey know where everything is. Many instances have happened where I've been to the same park a number of times and never realized there was another location nearby to explore. The last time my husband and I went we toured a different area and wound up seeing this beautiful field complete with wild turkeys.
