Take some time out during your busy holiday season to plan a date around a winter sleigh ride. These dates are crazy romantic; sure to impress the heck out of your significant other. Some of them don't cost much, depending on the type of venue or company that offers the carriage ride.

Some of the small towns that I've been too, including my own, have horse-drawn carriage rides during the holidays that people can purchase a ticket to. The Friday after Thanksgiving marks the day when my downtown area flips the annual switch, causing a million bright bulbs to light up the streets, power poles and Christmas tree. This is when the horse-drawn carriage drivers come out, waiting to cart kids, parents and couples around the few blocks that make up downtown.

When I goggle carriage rides I see everything from those that tour Central Park in New York City to Disney Tour excursions by horse-drawn buggies. Ski towns sometimes offer this type of ride as does several companies situated near Yellowstone National Park.

Think about purchasing a dinner and sleigh ride package if you have the funds allotted for it and are on vacation. Sip from a mug of hot chocolate or coffee at a nearby coffee shop after you've taken your ride around town and enjoy each others company for a while after the date. Add in a nighttime drive around town to see Christmas lights if you're not yet ready for the night to end. Arrive home and snuggle next to the Christmas tree for a good ending for your date night.
