My husband and I have enjoyed ringing in the New Year's either at home or with other couples over at a friend's house or a family member's house. We haven't gone out; the roads in our small town are either clogged up with cops or people who the cops are chasing after. Almost everybody I know hunkers down, either with friends or family or by themselves to welcome in the New Year. We all have managed to come up with some creative and fun ways to spend the holiday at home.
Appetizers and Games
Organize a New Year's Eve get together with your significant other and a few friends that you are both close with. Make or purchase appetizers and place them on festive plates and serving platters. Gather together games, some low-cost champagne and settle in for a fun way to ring in New Year's Eve.
Good Weather Grilling
Most of the country experienced a mild December, warm enough to set a few burgers on the grill for a New Year's Eve barbeque. Put together an assortment of potato chips, sweet pickles, fruit and cheese for your appetizers. Ask everyone to bring their own drinks, that way, you don't have to spend and arm and a leg on beverages. Keep a couple of sodas on hand for those who don't wish to drink alcoholic beverages.
